The URC denounces Erdoğan’s increasingly fascistic regime and its far-right accomplices. We express our solidarity with the activists of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform who have been arrested in Türkiye.
We condemn the arbitrary, violent, and unlawful arrest of around twenty comrades, including Comrade Miloš Karavezić, First Secretary of the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ). These activists were detained during an internal anti-NATO conference held as part of their theoretical work and international solidarity activities.
Acting as NATO’s regional gendarme, the Turkish regime is using the false pretext of the “fight against terrorism” to criminalize progressive and anti-imperialist political activity on the eve of the NATO Summit.
The URC fully supports the statement issued by our comrades of the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) and the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ). Ankara is serving NATO’s imperialist interests while directly attacking the forces fighting for the emancipation of peoples.
Comrade Miloš Karavezić is an internationalist activist—a communist whose only “crime” is his commitment to the struggle against imperialism and his defense of class solidarity. His detention, together with that of all the other comrades being held at the Çanakkale Police Headquarters, is unacceptable and constitutes a blatant violation of international law and fundamental human rights.
The URC demands:
- The immediate and unconditional release of Comrade Miloš Karavezić and all activists of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform.
- The immediate withdrawal of all fabricated charges brought against them.
- An immediate end to state repression against progressive, trade union, and communist forces in Türkiye.
In the face of imperialist barbarism and state repression, our response must be unity and mobilization.

Nous dénonçons l’arrestation arbitraire, violente et illégale d’une vingtaine de camarades, dont le premier secrétaire de la Ligue de la Jeunesse Communiste de Yougoslavie (SKOJ), le camarade Miloš Karavezić. Ces militants ont été interpellés lors d’une conférence interne anti-OTAN, dans le cadre de leurs activités théoriques et de solidarité internationale.
Le régime turc, agissant comme le gendarme régional de l’OTAN, utilise le prétexte fallacieux de la « lutte antiterroriste » pour criminaliser l’activité politique progressiste et anti-impérialiste à la veille du sommet de l’OTAN.
L’URC soutient intégralement le message publié par nos camarades du SKOJ et du Nouveau Parti Communiste de Yougoslavie (NKPJ). Ankara sert les intérêts impérialistes de l’OTAN et s’attaque frontalement aux forces qui luttent pour l’émancipation des peuples.
Le camarade Miloš Karavezić est un militant internationaliste, un communiste qui n’a d’autre crime que son engagement contre l’impérialisme et sa défense de la solidarité de classe. Sa détention, ainsi que celle de tous les autres camarades retenus au commissariat de Çanakkale, est inacceptable et constitue une violation flagrante du droit international et des droits fondamentaux.
L’URC exige :
- La libération immédiate et inconditionnelle du camarade Miloš Karavezić et de tous les militants de la Plateforme Mondiale Anti-Impérialiste.
- L’abandon immédiat de toutes les accusations fabriquées de toutes pièces à leur encontre.
- La fin immédiate de la répression d’État contre les forces progressistes, syndicales et communistes en Turquie.
Face à la barbarie impérialiste et à la répression d’État, notre réponse doit être l’unité et la mobilisation.
À bas la répression d’Erdoğan et de l’OTAN !
