‎Solidarity Call from Kenya: Defend the Arrested Cadres of the Revolutionary Students Commission!

‎‎Defend the Arrested Cadres of the Revolutionary Students Commission!

‎The Revolutionary Students Commission urgently calls upon progressive, democratic, anti-imperialist, and revolutionary organizations across Africa and the world to stand in solidarity with five of our cadres who were arrested during the African Forward Summit in Kenya while protesting against French imperialism and foreign domination on the African continent.

‎ The charges brought against these anti-imperialist students are trumped-up and politically motivated. We view these prosecutions as part of a broader campaign of repression directed at students, youth, workers, and popular movements that challenge imperialist influence and neo-colonial structures of power in Africa.

‎The arrest and prosecution of our comrades represent, in our view, an attempt by the neo-colonial state to intimidate and silence voices advocating for genuine sovereignty, self-determination, and liberation. Rather than addressing the legitimate concerns raised by anti-imperialist activists, state authorities have chosen the path of criminalization and repression.

‎On 2 June 2026, our comrades appeared before the court for a pretrial hearing. The case has now been scheduled for a full hearing beginning on 6 July 2026. As this date approaches, international attention and solidarity are urgently needed to ensure that these students are not isolated in their struggle and that their rights are respected throughout the legal process.

‎Our five comrades now face legal persecution for their political convictions and their participation in collective action against imperialism. An attack on anti-imperialist students is an attack on the democratic rights of all those who struggle for social justice, national independence, and popular democracy.

‎We therefore call upon student organizations, trade unions, youth movements, progressive political forces, human rights defenders, and all supporters of African liberation to:

‎* Condemn the arrest and prosecution of the five cadres of the Revolutionary Students Commission.
‎* Demand the immediate withdrawal of all politically motivated charges.
‎* Monitor the proceedings leading up to and during the hearing scheduled for 6 July 2026.
‎* Raise international awareness of the case and mobilize solidarity actions.
‎* Issue statements of support and publicize the case within your organizations and networks.
‎* Provide legal, political, and material support to assist in the defense of the arrested comrades.

‎History has shown that repression cannot extinguish the struggle for liberation. Attempts to silence students through arrests, intimidation, and fabricated accusations will only strengthen the resolve of those fighting against imperialism, exploitation, and neo-colonial domination.

‎As the July hearing approaches, we call upon all progressive forces, student movements, workers’ organizations, and anti-imperialist activists around the world to stand with the arrested comrades and defend their democratic rights.

‎Drop the charges against the five cadres of the Revolutionary Students Commission!

‎End the repression of anti-imperialist students!

‎Defend democratic rights and political freedoms!

‎Forward with African liberation and international solidarity!
