Revolutionary youth organizations organized a march in Istanbul

Revolutionary youth organizations organized a march in Istanbul, Turkey, to commemorate the Kızıldere Resistance. Fifty-five years ago, 10 revolutionary leaders lost their lives in clashes that erupted in the village of Kızıldere, located in the Niksar district of Tokat.

These leaders had taken three military technicians hostage from a British radar base in Ünye in an attempt to prevent the execution of THKO leaders Deniz Gezmiş, Hüseyin İnan, and Yusuf Arslan. The youth continue to follow in the footsteps of the revolutionary leaders!

The Anti-Imperialist War Youth Union, which gathered to march toward the Israeli Consulate, did not back down despite the police cordon.

Insisting on marching with slogans such as “We Follow in the Footsteps of Kızıldere Against NATO, Imperialism, and Zionism” and “No Passage for NATO from Kızıldere to Today!”, the young people eventually broke through the police cordon and carried out the march.

The Revolutionary Student Union (DÖB) stated in a message: “As revolutionary youth, we will never back down in the face of the fascist regime’s repression—which confronts our struggle against NATO, the killer of peoples, and its local collaborators with blockades and detentions. We continue to raise our voices in every arena we are in, and we will continue to do so. Following the path opened by Mahir and Deniz, we will continue to uphold our determination to expand the struggle in every arena. ‘Be a Deniz against imperialism!’”
